Become a TRUE Advisor and get recognized as a zero waste professional trained on GBCI’s TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) program. TRUE Advisors understand zero waste business principles, the requirements of the TRUE Zero Waste Rating System, help projects achieve TRUE certification and are committed to growing and advancing zero waste values and policies.

As a TRUE Advisor, you’ll be the resident expert at your company in supporting and implementing zero waste programs, preparing organizations for certification and leading facilities through the TRUE certification process.

Get started on your TRUE Advisor journey. Registration is now open for the TRUE Advisor certificate program, which will launch in late December. Plus, if you register by December 31, you'll receive a 20 percent discount. Take advantage of this offer to become part of an elite group of professionals dedicated to zero waste.

TRUE Advisor Certificate Program

Cost: $350 (USGBC members) and $450 (nonmembers). Take 20 percent off by registering before December 31.

Register for the TRUE Advisor certificate program.

There are no eligibility requirements to become a TRUE Advisor—just a passion for and proven commitment to zero waste and sustainable design principles. In order to receive the professional certificate, you must complete the online on-demand training program and pass an online assessment within 90 days of registration. You will have two chances to pass the TRUE Advisor exam. If you do not pass the exam within two attempts or by the end of your eligibility period, you will be required to register for the certificate program again.

The TRUE Advisor certificate will show your colleagues, employer, friends and family that you are committed to preserving and improving the environment; that you possess the knowledge necessary to diverting unnecessary waste from landfills, incineration (waste-to-energy) and the environment; and a willingness to assist others in achieving TRUE zero waste operations.
