The Canelands team started a Green Team in 2017, which drives sustainability from one new generation of managers and employees, to the next. This foundation has led to advancing our strategy to achieve targets in Colgate-Palmolive’s 2025 Sustainability & Social Impact Strategy. The Canelands Bar Soap Manufacturing plant is committed to minimize impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate.

In order to strive and achieve objectives for environmental sustainability, the facility ensures the retention of zero waste to landfill site certification by abiding to the GBCI True manual. This includes training of all employees and subcontractors on zero waste, strict adherence to segregation of waste, giving recyclable waste to reputable companies and ensuring a duty of care audits are being done quarterly. Some highlights of our program is to ensure that level of engagement and commitment from site leadership, and employees to strictly uphold segregation of waste.

“By 2025, we aim to achieve 100% TRUE certification for our global operations, including manufacturing sites, technology centers, strategic offices and owned warehouses,” says Ann Tracy, Chief Sustainability Officer. “With enthusiastic teams, collaborative partners and this comprehensive approach to waste reduction, we’re confident we can make it happen.”
