Project Overview:

Hill’s Pet Nutrition Richmond site is aligned with our corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives as part of our long term business strategy. We take pride in recycling initiatives that include corrugate, production bags, various types of metals, and wood. Our scrap production product helps feed local livestock. We annually conduct zero waste training to our plant personnel and on site contractors. Weekly sustainability meetings keep our focus on forever improving our local footprint.

We execute several programs during the year that include “Dumpster Dives” to help educate our plant personnel on the day to day trash that can be diverted to the correct recycling containers. Plant clean up day not only enhances our plant, but the local area as well. Earth Day activities also include planting a tree annually on the property to elevate our “Calming” resting area at our facility.

“By 2025, we aim to achieve 100% TRUE certification for our global operations, including manufacturing sites, technology centers, strategic offices and owned warehouses,” says Ann Tracy, Chief Sustainability Officer. “With enthusiastic teams, collaborative partners and this comprehensive approach to waste reduction, we’re confident we can make it happen.”
