Project Overview:

Haleon Kuala Lumpur is dedicated to environmental sustainability and advancing zero waste principles as part of Haleon’s purpose ‘to deliver better everyday health with humanity’. Our site has implemented innovative waste management strategies to reduce waste generation, promote recycling and reuse, responsibly handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials and to follow the requirements of TRUE Certification.

Our site introduced several key initiatives to eliminate waste and promote circular economy solutions. For example, rejected ENO waste is processed into bio-fertilizer through composting technology, turning waste into a valuable product. Similarly, Panadol blister packaging waste made from non-recyclable aluminium and PVC and other non-hazardous waste, is transformed into panel boards used to manufacture goods such as benches or notice boards.

Employees play a vital role in Haleon Kuala Lumpur’s zero waste initiatives through attending regular trainings on waste segregation practices and actively participating in recycling programs. Good example is our e-waste collection bin at the site, that allows employees to responsibly dispose electronic waste.

TRUE Certification is a key part of Haleon Kuala Lumpur’s sustainability vision, recognizing its achievements in zero waste and advancing waste circularity. TRUE Certification validates these efforts and reinforces Haleon KL’s commitment to protecting the environment, supporting public health, and inspiring sustainable practices in the industry.

“At Haleon we are united by our purpose: to deliver better everyday health with humanity," said Alastair Reed, Site Director. "Our Haleon Kuala Lumpur manufacturing site produces a number of world-class brands including Panadol that address real consumer health needs. Beyond the products; through partnering with like-minded organisations like TRUE we believe we have the opportunity to help break down the environmental barriers that hold people back from better everyday health and I am particularly proud of the site initiatives to divert waste into circular channels such as bio-fertilizer and panel boards. I truly hope these serve as inspiration for sustainable practices in our industry.”
