Project Overview:

The project, designated as PSR-01, is situated within a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) campus in Bangalore. This building encompasses a gross square footage of 283,000 square feet and is designed to accommodate approximately 1,300 occupants. The facility is primarily dedicated to research and development operations.

HP adopted a company-wide goal in 2021 to reach zero waste to landfill in their operations by 2025, as defined by the UL or TRUE certification standard. This commitment is supported by a global policy emphasizing reduction, reuse, and recycling, aligning with circular economy principles.

To achieve TRUE certification for PSR-01, HP implemented several key initiatives:
• Hand dryers were installed in restrooms, minimizing the use of paper towels.
• The Go Khanna initiative, a digital food ordering system, was launched to reduce paper use and minimize food waste.
• Surplus food is processed in an onsite composter, and the resulting compost is used for landscaping throughout the campus and to nourish indoor plants.
• Through HP's Planet Partners program, the collection and recycling of e-waste, printer cartridges, and batteries is facilitated.
• HP has adopted a policy requiring its systems to be built with 50% recycled plastic and 30% post-consumer recycled plastics.
• Diversion activities are reviewed monthly with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Employees receive incentives after attending awareness sessions that highlight key messages.
• Online training materials are available to employees via the SABA platform.
• HP's zero waste target is publicly disclosed, and progress is outlined in the annual Sustainable Impact report.
• Janitorial staff participate in regular training sessions on proper waste management practices, including handling, collection, and storage.

The efforts undertaken at PSR-01 have not only driven operational efficiencies and cost savings through waste diversion but have also significantly engaged employees in sustainability initiatives. By incorporating innovative strategies, HP has enhanced its environmental impact metrics, demonstrating measurable reductions in waste and increased resource efficiency. These practices have cultivated a culture of sustainability within the facility, empowering each employee to contribute actively towards the company’s zero waste goals.

"HP aims to be the most sustainable and just technology company," said Allison Porter, Director of Sustainable Real Estate, Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Services (CREWS), HP. "Achieving TRUE certification demonstrates our unwavering commitment to HP Inc.'s mission of fostering a sustainable future by driving circularity, minimizing environmental impact, and advancing our vision to create technology that inspires progress while protecting our planet."
