State Farm® is the first Property & Casualty Insurance Company worldwide to achieve TRUE zero waste facility certifications. The Illinois Multi-Regional Services Facility (MRSF) became TRUE zero waste certified in late 2023, achieving an impressive 96% overall diversion rate.

State Farm & MRSF zero waste initiatives:
• Established an internal zero waste goal in 2022 to achieve a 90% diversion rate at select sites.
• Formalized a Zero Waste Policy based on TRUE strategies.
• Implemented efforts to reduce paper onsite and pursue local donation opportunities.
• Reduced the use of virgin paper through 20% minimum post-consumer recycled paper for janitorial products and 30% minimum post-consumer recycled paper for office paper.
• Reused totes for storage and transport of materials, reducing the use of cardboard.
• Created systems to repair, reuse, redistribute, recycle, and donate electronic assets and e-waste in partnership with local vendors.

The MRSF teams are committed to processes which reduce landfill waste, while exploring opportunities to reuse, recycle, and donate materials. The MRSF TRUE achievement is a testament to State Farm’s operational efficiencies, responsible use of resources, and sustainability initiatives.
