The 2025 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, taking place Nov. 4–7 in Los Angeles, California, is designed to keep participants at the forefront of the industry by covering sustainability, resilience, and health and wellness in the spaces where we live, work, learn and play.

Attend a session on zero waste

Workshop: Getting to Zero Waste: Learning from TRUE Trailblazers

Tuesday, Nov. 4, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. PT

This interactive workshop will feature sector-specific roundtable discussions where participants can engage with seasoned professionals to explore how TRUE certification and zero waste practices have brought value to their facilities, events and construction projects. Teams from University of California Berkeley and 555 California—both based in California, the birthplace of TRUE—will present case studies showcasing their achievements. Attendees will also have the chance to contribute feedback and ideas to help shape the development of TRUE v2.

An optional tour of the Los Angeles Convention Center will follow the workshop and be offered to the first 50 people who sign up on the day of the workshop.

Uncorking Zero Waste: Wine Rivals Unite for Recycling Revolution

Wednesday, Nov. 5, 10:30–11:30 a.m. PT

This session will showcase how an entire industry in a small community has developed a robust commodity market from their waste and recyclables. Following a TRUE workshop, passionate wine industry professionals united to find innovative ways to uplift their community through better material management practices. By source separating their materials, they have worked with their supply chain and reprocessors to change how they do business. The collective has evolved into a model program, providing sustainable jobs while reducing environmental impact.

What's Next for Zero Waste: The Future of Materials Management

Friday, Nov. 7, 10:15–11:15 a.m. PT

How is zero waste evolving to address the impacts of resource extraction and material consumption on our air, land, water and health? How can each of us shape strategy and processes to meaningfully drive positive change? Join us as we explore these questions and more in this dynamic discussion.

Game-Changing Zero Waste Strategies with San Francisco International Airport

Friday, Nov. 7, 9–10 a.m. PT

Zero waste consultancy All About Waste will explore how large, complex organizations like the San Francisco International Airport are tackling waste reduction in their pursuit of achieving zero waste in an engaging and interactive session.
