Richard Anthony Associates

Richard Anthony is principal of Richard Anthony Associates, a consulting firm that focuses on Zero Waste planning. Mr. Anthony has worked on resource conservation and recovery plans for almost 40 years, and is a former Department of Public Works solid waste manager from both Fresno County (1979 -1987) and San Diego County (1987 -1998), California.

He is currently advisor on Zero Waste planning to the City of Los Angeles, California, City of Austin, Texas, the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, and the County of San Luis Obispo County, California. Most recently he led a team for Zero Waste Plans in Glendale and Oceanside CA. He is an internationally recognized and published expert in the area of Resource Management using the Zero Waste Systems approach. He has participated in developing Zero Waste plans since 1998. He has recently led International Dialogues on Zero Waste in Brazil, the Philippines and Naples Italy.

Richard Anthony is a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the California Resource Recovery Association, the Grassroots Recycling Network, and the Zero Waste International Alliance. He is an Instructor in the Californian Resource Recovery Association Certificate Program and Board Member of the California Resource Management Training Institute. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the California State University Long Beach and a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
