Sanko Valve Holdings has supported Japan’s social infrastructure for 79 years through its core business as a specialized trading company for piping materials. Guided by its vision, "Creating New Possibilities for Construction," the company has evolved into a comprehensive group that integrates design, off-site manufacturing, DX-enabled production, and construction services. By bringing together engineering firms, manufacturing facilities, and construction companies within the group, Sanko Valve Holdings provides seamless support from material procurement to on-site installation.
Its group company, F.RAIZE Co., Ltd., which operates Miyawaka Factories No. 1 and No. 2, delivers innovative off-site solutions through the modularization and prefabrication of piping systems. Guided by a shared vision between the management teams of Sanko Valve Holdings and F.RAIZE to address waste challenges in the construction industry, comprehensive zero-waste guidelines were established for the entire Miyawaka operation.
At the plant level, this commitment is reflected in practical resource-efficiency initiatives. These include maximizing the reuse of wooden pallets, minimizing single-use packaging materials, and thoroughly recycling or internally reprocessing manufacturing by-products such as metal, plastics, and paper. To ensure continuous improvement, regular employee training programs reinforce zero-waste principles and integrate them into everyday operations.
We believe that the significance of achieving TRUE certification at an early stage as a company in Japan's building services sector extends beyond strengthening our own environmental performance. It also lies in helping advance resource circularity across the construction industry, where waste remains a major challenge.
Our partnership with Woonerf Inc., a Tokyo-based sustainability consulting firm, was instrumental in transforming our vision into measurable action through TRUE certification, further strengthening our long-term commitment to sustainability.
To date, we have been advancing off-site construction through piping fabrication, modularization, and off-site manufacturing to help address labor shortages while improving productivity and ensuring consistent quality across the construction industry. Beyond reducing on-site workloads, shortening construction schedules, and enhancing quality, off-site construction also offers significant opportunities to improve material management, reduce material waste, and substantially lower CO₂ emissions.
We prioritized TRUE certification because it provides an internationally recognized framework for redefining our off-site construction initiatives through the principles of sustainability and the circular economy. It enables us to establish clear performance metrics and practical management systems that support our transition toward truly circular business practices.
We see TRUE certification as an essential step in transforming our sustainability vision into measurable action and accelerating the implementation of circular economy principles throughout our business. Moving forward, we are committed to contributing to greater resource circularity across Japan's construction industry from our position in the building services sector.
