My name is Engr. Rizwan Ullah, and I am currently working as a Corporate Senior Sustainability and Environmental Manager with AlBawani in Riyadh. I have more than 15 years of professional experience across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, primarily within construction, infrastructure, and major development projects.
My expertise covers environmental management, sustainability, ESG, decarbonization, carbon management, regulatory compliance, and sustainable built environments. I have practical experience implementing sustainability frameworks including LEED, Mostadam, WELL, SITES and Envision, as well as environmental management systems and GHG accounting and reporting.
Academically, I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Management from the University of Derby, UK, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Professionally, I hold certifications including PMP, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Mostadam AP, SITES AP, Envision SP, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, as well as Lead Auditor credentials in ISO 14001, ISO 14064 and ISO 50001.
Throughout my career, I have worked on major and complex projects in Saudi Arabia, including government, infrastructure, data centre, hospitality and large-scale development projects. My role involves translating sustainability and environmental requirements into practical project implementation, establishing governance and reporting systems, managing environmental compliance, and coordinating with clients, consultants, designers, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
At this stage of my career, my focus is not only on compliance, but on integrating sustainability into business and project decision-making, particularly in the areas of decarbonization, Net Zero, ESG performance, resource efficiency and Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
