TRUE Advisor
Please enter brief detail about yourself After earning my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Florida State University, I entered the Public Health world to explore my passion for People, Public Health, Community and Management. Starting my career immediately after college with the Centers for Disease Control as a Public Health Advisor, I became intrenched with respecting and protecting human health and the environment. During that time, I also received my Master’s in public health from Morehouse School of Medicine. Currently, I am CEO and founder for Legacy Supply Team, where I focus on providing sustainability solutions to meet the needs of companies, institutions, communities and public health providers. I’ve spent the last 20+ years learning everything there is to know about healthy people, environmental sustainability industry, disparities among specific populations, to being a philanthropist and running my own company. Sustainability is not part of my business. It is my business. To put it simply, I’m in the sustainability business—and I am in it for good. Very personal and meaningful to me. I've held several professional roles as a Public Health advisor, Entrepreneurship, Community leader and founder of Mothers Legacy Foundation, nonprofit 501c3. But my latest challenge has been helping companies and communities improve our environmental efforts that impact public health outcomes. As a society, we waste money on bad buildings ….and we are wasting lives in bad buildings. Public health is obviously directly connected to society’s success in answering the call. In addition to my personal passion for this work, I know that a strong sustainability commitment mission is critical to any company servicing our communities. As a TRUE Advisor and LEED Green Associate; having these certifications brings credibility and value to understanding environmental impact. Our promises --- and the work we do to deliver on them builds stronger relationships and increase trust. Now, I find myself having come full circle and what an amazing time to assist International Well Building Institute (IWBI), serving on the Global WELL City Advisory board with other diverse industry experts from around the world who are transforming health and well-building with a people first approach to buildings, organizations and communities. Convening community discussion with diverse stakeholders to address sustainability and health equity issues in communities to build WELL built communities, facilitate science and research discussions with stakeholders understanding the complexity of the epidemic at hand and environmental impact.
