Brian Hertz has been part of the Waste Management Sustainability Services (WMSS) consulting team since 2011. Over the past seven years, Brian has participated in projects within a variety of segments including Food and Retail, Manufacturing and Industrial, Commercial Properties, and Stadiums, Arenas and Events. Brian currently works as part of our Innovations, Technology, and Strategic Alliances group, helping to cultivate strategic partnerships that advance the work of our WMSS teams.
In 2014, and again in 2015, Brian served as part of the Waste Management Phoenix Open teams that helped achieve a goal of Zero Waste at the event, which hosts over 500,000 fans each year. Brian also works with WMSS’s ENSPIRE Business Intelligence tool, which helps customers track their waste and recycling data using an innovative, interactive digital dashboard.
Brian graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and completed a Bridging Disciplines Interdisciplinary Certificate in Environment. Brian is a LEED Accredited Professional (EB: O+M) and is registered as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) in Texas. Brian is also an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, and in October 2016, Brian became the WMSS team’s first WELL Accredited Professional.
