As an Industrial Engineer by training (B.S. University of Nebraska - Lincoln and M.S. Iowa State University) and an experienced professional across a variety of industries, ingrained is the recognition of opportunity to be found in inefficiencies and waste. Waste is a four letter word to me, something WE ALL overlook too much every day! The TRUE foundational terminology, practical tools, technologies, and strategy recommendations, along with of course its framework of categories and credits presents a systematic, fairly comprehensive, yet straightforward approach. I hope to be able to utilize it some day in developing and implementing a program to divert wastes for highest and best use, capture savings, perhaps bring in additional revenues, but most importantly, do my and our part to make our communities, ecosystems, and the world a cleaner, healthier, and more resource-secure place.
