Kayla Garcia

Kayla graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Mapua University (formerly Mapua Institute of Technology) in May of 2017. During her internship, she expanded her knowledge and expertise in architectural and interior design. She was able to familiarize herself not only with architectural and construction drawings, but also with interior design and materials by developing thorough training through many projects she had worked on. She began working at APTCS Group in 2017, when she discovered a new passion for sustainability, giving her a different outlook and ideals in the field of sustainable design and construction. By broadening her knowledge of sustainability, she was able to have a better grasp of not only green buildings, but also how they affect our community and environment. After learning and working on multiple LEED projects in the Philippines, she earned her LEED Green Associate credential the following year, in June of 2018. She continues to work on various projects with zeal and a drive to make a difference through sustainability, and she earned her LEED AP BD+C credential through the USGBC LEED AP Specialty Credential Scholarship. She received her first digital badge and officially became the first USGBC Pro Reviewer in the Philippines—in which she provides reviews on courses at USGBC Education, in September 2021 through Green Building Certification Inc. (GBCI). She joined WELL Homes Advisory in 2022 and later earned her WELL AP credential. In the same year, she achieved her TRUE Advisor certification and is currently advancing her specialty in EDGE as well as other Certifications.
