Natalia is a Group Program Manager with the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice (OSEJ), where she works with Finance and General Governance Offices and Departments as a Liaison to help them achieve their Department Sustainability Commitments. She also acts as the Office’s Subject Matter Expert for Circular Economy.
Prior to joining the OSEJ team, she was a member of Department of Public Work’s Solid Waste Planning and Recycling section, where she worked to ensure that commercial & multifamily properties were not only properly recycling but also had the tools they needed to do so. Before joining the County in 2020, she was the Recycling Programs Manager at I Love A Clean San Diego, where she managed the county-wide donation, repair, and recycling hotline and database, WasteFreeSD.org.
Natalia holds a B.S. in Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Evolution from the UC San Diego, as well as a Certification in Sustainable Resource Management. She is also recognized by Green Business Certification Inc. as a certified TRUE Advisor and zero waste professional. Her overarching mission in life is to help bring together more sustainable and equitable local & global communities through education, outreach, and collaboration.
During her free time, Natalia enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband Matt and three tortoiseshell cats, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and cooking/eating delicious things! She also loves to throw a good party and has a passion for zero waste event coordination.
