Sarah Morley
Consultant, Johns Hopkins University
TRUE Advisor
Newly minted TRUE Advisor seeking opportunities to support experienced TRUE professionals.
About me: Johns Hopkins Univ MBA and MA in Government. 15 years of experience supporting early-stage social innovation start-ups build teams, manage projects, develop strategic partnerships within the public and private sector and scale operations. As the first employee at Cupid's Charity, I helped the founders build the organization from a $10k fun run to a 50 city, $5M annual fundraiser for a rare genetic disorder. In my career, I have generated enthusiasm for solutions for diseases that were under-represented (neurofibromatosis) or previously taboo (addiction). Now, I plan to advocate for better solutions to our alarming rates of global waste.
I recently attended graduate school to better understand public and private solutions to waste. The first chapter of my thesis argues for the economic co-benefits of organic waste diversion, as means of overcoming political resistance to climate change mitigation action. The last research paper I wrote looked at the entity's that could prevent fast fashion's destructive production of clothing waste. In addition to business and policy studies, I took coursework in environmental studies and solid waste engineering.
