Debra Shepard

Debra is the Principal and Owner of Riverstone Sustainability, a consulting firm based in Newburyport, MA, that helps organizations to measure, manage, and report their sustainability impacts. She has over 13 years of experience in the sustainability field, working with leading academic institutions including Wentworth Institute of Technology, Harvard and MIT, as well as clients in the corporate sector. Her expertise ranges from sustainability strategy and organizational development, to LEED project management, climate action planning, waste minimization programs, and community engagement. She also developed and taught a course on carbon accounting and greenhouse gas reduction planning at Harvard Extension School from 2010 to 2013, and currently serves as adjunct instructor of Sustainable Energy at Merrimack College. Debra is a LEED AP, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology from Boston University, and a Masters in Environmental Management from Harvard Extension School. Debra is also a certified provider for the Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program.
