Ivannia Perez Schlamm

I am passionate about working with businesses on environmental stewardship while keeping them profitable. I graduated from the PUCV (http://www.pucv.cl) in Chile with a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering. After working many years in Sales, Marketing, Advertising and Customer Service industries, I transitioned to Sustainability. First, I got a State-approved Certificate of Achievement in Recycling and Waste Management from Santa Monica College and then an ANSI-accredited LEED Green Associate Professional Credential with GBCI. During my transition to the Sustainability industry, I worked in projects related to waste assessment, its management and analysis of city waste reports. The experience I gained at Las Virgenes Unified School District in Calabasas, CalRecycle in Long Beach and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in Agoura Hills, CA was vital and rewarding. Since 2016, I work at Sustainable Works in Santa Monica, CA; assessing businesses' current policies, commending them for existing sustainable practices, recommending new actions where appropriate, and providing hands-on assistance to help them implement new practices. In addition, I track and measure the impacts of our Green Business Program successes and assist businesses in becoming Green Business Certified and/or recognized in the City of Santa Monica.
