Alec Cooley

Alec Cooley has over 30 years of experience in the recycling field, most recently as a senior advisor with Busch Systems. Alec spent the first decade of his career as the solid waste reduction manager overseeing operations, program development and educational outreach for Cal Poly, Humboldt in Northern California. Next he worked for three years as a project manager at the National Recycling Coalition followed by another nine years as director of recycling programs with the national office of Keep America Beautiful. In this role, Alec oversaw all public space recycling and college and university programs, including recycling behavior research projects and the development of best practice resources to improve public participation. Alec is a certified TRUE Advisor. He has previously served on the boards of the California Resource Recovery Association, Carolina Recycling Association and National Recycling Coalition. Alec lives near Charleston, SC.
