FOAMENOM TABOU

Tabou Foamenom is a sustainable development expert and entrepreneur bridging North American expertise with African innovation in the green building sector. As the founder of Green Construction-Homes (GC-H), he has implemented groundbreaking projects, most notably designing and implementing a comprehensive zero waste program at the Presidential Palace ( Unity Palace ) of Cameroon. This high-profile achievement demonstrates the practical application of circular economy principles at the highest levels of government and has become a model for institutional sustainability in the region. Among his most significant accomplishments is establishing a strategic collaboration with Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education to implement a nationwide zero waste program in schools. This innovative initiative integrated biodigesters as both practical waste management solutions and educational tools, transforming how thousands of students understand sustainability while creating tangible environmental benefits across the country. His other notable projects include sustainable renovations for diplomatic facilities in Cameroon and innovative biogas technologies deployed through a strategic partnership with HomeBiogas. Driven by a clear purpose to rethink the flow of materials across industries resulting in no waste, Tabou's vision is to create zero waste systems and foster an inclusive circular economy. This philosophy guides all his professional endeavors, from green buildings projects to educational initiatives. A LEED Green Associate and TRUE Advisor certified by GBCI, Tabou holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2018. He has further enhanced his expertise through specialized training at Harvard Business School. His company was recently recognized as the best SME in Renewable Energy (waste recovery and biogas category) at the international “ PROMOTE “ trade fair, in Central Africa. Currently dividing his time between Ottawa and Yaoundé, Tabou serves as an Academic Supervisor for graduating engineers at the University of Ottawa while expanding GC-H's impact across Africa and North America. His work consistently demonstrates that sustainable development is both environmentally responsible and economically viable, particularly in emerging markets. As an active member of the US and Canadian Green Building Councils and the Cameroon Renewable Energy Association, Tabou continues to advocate for green building practices that respect cultural contexts while addressing global environmental challenges.
