Majd Fayyad

Majd is a Certified Energy Manager, Renewable Energy Specialist and Mechanical Engineer. Majd has more than 6 years of experience in the fields of sustainability, green buildings, zero energy buildings, solar energy, energy benchmarking, and retrofitting. He has managed complex and multi-stakeholder projects in the UAE and Lebanon including the Dubai’s BEA Benchmarking Project, Green Key and the National CDM Project for Solar Energy in Lebanon. Majd has also conducted numerous research studies on sustainable and green technologies and most recently has focused on the energy efficiency of existing buildings and net zero buildings in the UAE. He authored and contributed to several national and regional publications. Among his greatest achievements was the launch of the “Defining Nearly Zero Energy Buildings in the UAE Report” in which he was the project lead and main author. He was selected as a part of panel to act as a judge for three reputable Middle East sustainability awards and participated as a speaker and panellist in several sustainability events in the UAE and the region. Majd holds a Master degree in Renewable Energy from Lebanese and Saint Joseph Universities and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese University. Majd was awarded top of his engineering class for 5 consecutive years and graduated as Valedictorian of his engineering class. He also holds CEM, LEED AP (O+M), TRUE Advisor credentials.
