Stacy Savage

Founder/President, Zero Waste Strategies, LLC

TRUE Advisor
Stacy Savage is Founder & CEO of Zero Waste Strategies LLC, an environmental consulting firm specializing in supporting the new Circular Economy. Her client list includes Dell, AT&T, Apple, Nestle Purina PetCare, Kohler, Belden, Boston University, and City of Austin. Through her multi-tiered online courses and in-person consultations, clients receive customized waste reduction plans to drive increased efficiency, deeper customer loyalty, employee empowerment, and a green marketing edge. Stacy Savage is a lifelong Texan born and raised in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area where her parents worked at oil refineries for a collective 75 years. Her personal experience with rotten egg smells, brown, hazy skies, and cancers that affected influential family members stamped her career path in environmental stewardship. Stacy has been a “recycling nerd” for over 20 years. Starting in 2003 as a grassroots community organizer, she knocked on tens of thousands of doors across several states to educate and engage residents in tackling pollution issues. She then played a pivotal role in passing 2 pieces of statewide legislation for free, responsible manufacturer recycling of toxic electronics known as the 2007 Texas Computer TakeBack Law and the 2011 Texas TV TakeBack Law. In 2009, she co-founded and served as Chair of the Austin Zero Waste Alliance (2009). From 2015-2017, she served as an Austin City Council appointee to the Zero Waste Advisory Commission (ZWAC) and was elected by her Commission peers to serve on Austin's Joint Sustainability Committee. For 5 years, Stacy was a co-host on the live, weekly radio talk show "Shades of Green" on KOOP 91.7FM where she had the privilege of broadcasting to 50,000 listeners and interviewing community members, elected officials, and nonprofit group from the Austin area. Mrs. Savage lived in Austin for 20 years but has recently moved just east to the pine-forested area of Bastrop with her husband, Jon, and their fur baby, Tex (the orange tabby cat rescue). She is out causing "good trouble" in the sticks!
