Cemex Margain Offices

Cemex’s Margáin offices have become the first corporate space in Mexico to achieve TRUE Certification, demonstrating that sustainability can start from within. The project focuses on managing and diverting waste in the most responsible way possible through a comprehensive waste management system that promotes the best disposal of materials.

Innovative practices include eliminating individual trash bins and replacing them with centralized sorting stations, establishing supplier selection policies that prioritize sustainable products, and developing communication campaigns that educate and engage employees. This initiative has strengthened the workplace community, encouraging people across all areas to contribute ideas, adopt better practices, and actively support the transition toward a more sustainable operational culture.

Through these waste diversion strategies, the offices have significantly reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill and advanced their transition toward a circular model. Materials such as PET, aluminum, paper, and organics are redirected to processes that extend their useful life, promote reuse, and help decrease the environmental footprint of daily operations. This has contributed to lower overall emissions and a more sustainable workplace culture.

This initiative has generated a positive social and environmental impact, fostering a sense of ownership among employees, strengthening community values, and positioning Cemex as a benchmark for corporate sustainability and circular economy leadership in Latin America.
